Toasted Pecans. They really did add a nice flavor to these.
I was thinking, "That is a lot of muscavado. These better be good!"
They were a little runny...
I atcually like that they came out nice and thin.
These really were more delicious then I expected them to be. A real treat. However, most of the kids slurped out the ice cream and left the cookies with the offending nuts un-eaten.

They do look good!
ReplyDeleteYours look so caramalized and crisp! I think I like yours better too! much better for ice-cream sandwich. :)
ReplyDeletei think this is much better way to get the flat cookie look, rather than the sticky mixture.great job!
ReplyDeleteI like them flat and caramelised too! Much easier to eat like that. Lol, best part of an ice cream sandwich being a kid is the slurping out the ice cream :) --- Jeniffer
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the kiddos in the kitchen. I'll be making these this afternoon and have a feeling I'll like the cookie version better than the ice cream sandwich version. Time will tell. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHi Mendy: Mine were not as dark, but I didn't have the special sugar and had to use what I had on hand--a mixture of light brown and dark Muscovado. Mine were puffy but I think when I make them again I will make them thin and crispy like yours. Shayna is lovely as she can be!
ReplyDeleteHoney and milk under your tongue is a perfect description. I splurged and bought Muscovado sugar and I too cringed at the amount called for. Being that I never tasted it before, I found it so delicious. I'm hooked, unfortunately. BTW, my Grandmother loved to call me "my Shayna Punim."
ReplyDeleteKimberlie, you are still a "Shayna punim". 😊
DeleteI've just added awesom-azing to my vocabulary. I love crunchy meringues as there is more flavour to them, yours are lovely cookies Mendy!
ReplyDeletei like the caramelised wafer-like meringues. I also like Lulu's floral outfit for baking. So sweet.
