Greenstein's Bakery - Baking Bible - Lemon Jammies!

I actually really liked these. I thought they were really delish!

I missed the Sunday opportunity to bake so I ended up doing it at night after work when it was, uh, bedtime (over the course of three evenings). The deal was, you get in your Jammies, you can have a Jammie.

Not sure why this was the only cookie cutter that seems to be over 2"

mMcgyver-ed a heart out of a paper clip.

I did not have any butter so we made these parve. Hooray! I get to use the real oven! :)

Yummy cookies!

As my daughter says, "Look, a hawt!"

I messed up the first batch of corn syrup and sugar.  I actually used some Lyol's Golden syrup that I found.

The first batch got to harder candy stage and got hard and chewy.

I made a second batch of the sugar/corn syrup and this time, it was O.K.

  1. Looks like the Jammies for p'jammies worked! So does parve mean you used shortening? Because that would make them dairy free with a jam filling. MacGyver indeed! Such a good tv show. Your cookies turned out delightful. Imagine the Golden Syrup really added a special touch. This is probably going to be one of those Go To recipes.

    1. ב''ה

It means margarine as I don't like shortening. It is flavorless. Great cookie.

    2. Oh, okay, thanks. Good to know.

  2. I love your MacGyvered paper clip heart! Did you use your food pro to make the buttercream?

    1. No, the mixer. Perhaps you meant the cookie dough? Yes, I used the food processor to make it. It was easy. :)

  3. I saw this just after I posted the roundup--sorry I missed it! Love the paper clip heart! You and Tony (of the scotch taped cookie cutter) are so high tech.

  4. Love your McGyvering. I ate quite a lot of these while wearing jammies as well. They're that kind of biscuit.
