After all your hard work, too. This is the time for throwing such a temperamental cake into a trifle bowl and renaming such a stubborn princess! Making the custard was definitely the best part. And how nice of Rose to include so much stirring for extra spoon tastings. Looks like you have your own little prince and princess who are definitely much cuter!Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04092314449327044507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018710147566453690.post-87706958505456043292015-04-23T23:03:49.112-04:002015-04-23T23:03:49.112-04:00I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like it....I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like it. I'm surprised to see the pastry buttercream didn't set esp. when it had so much butter in it. Yes, the pastry cream itself is delicious too! faithyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01442407119836426810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018710147566453690.post-9792535361667989172015-04-23T21:56:05.057-04:002015-04-23T21:56:05.057-04:00I like Michele's idea about taking all the par...I like Michele's idea about taking all the parts of the cake that you liked the best and somehow putting them together to make it your own. I agree with you about the raisins--it was just a puzzle to me why they were there.<br />Did your moral supporters like the cake, or any part thereof?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15187362927261194164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018710147566453690.post-56131815132124831372015-04-23T21:39:06.814-04:002015-04-23T21:39:06.814-04:00Hi Mendy: I was so tempted to unmold that cake ea...Hi Mendy: I was so tempted to unmold that cake early, but managed to wait. I omitted the raisins and could have done without the vodka and tea, since I couldn't taste either of them once it was all together anyway! I did love that pastry cream, though, I licked that bowl clean! You're right, the cake was delicious, perhaps make it alone next time and forget all the fancy stuff--you might like it better!
